Alberto does a good job on his striping, as well as the color correction service. Of course, though affordable, you have to factor in the cost of shipping. Italian shipping, while largely reliable, is quite expensive. Alberto does ship quickly as well. I'll admit that I have rarely rerecorded in stereo, though once I find an LPP coy of Xanadu, I will get that one done, the soundtrack is worthy, even if the film itself is fairly cornball. At least I know that the stripe for that recording will be reliable, being Kodak prestripe. Has anyone done the sound on sound recording for they're tracks? ( That is, adding sound on an existing track ). As mentioned by others, I have never had an issue with a lack of focus from side to side, due to a lack of balance stripe. Maybe that is an issue with some projectors where others, with perhaps better film gates, do not have that issue?

The balance track was for even focus, decent machines wernt affected by only having one, but low end projectors would have had problems as has been well documented. It was called a balance stripe for a reason.
Derek Simmonds did his utmost to try and persuade Walton not to do away with the balance track for that reason. Winding on the reel was never really a problem.
