Advice regarding ELMO SC 18 models

Hello all, I have an ELMO SC18 MD. Can any kind soul advise what the MD stood for? MO, I can understand but MD. Your thoughts appreciated.

Hi Mark.
I believe the MD stands for Magnetic Double Record. On this model there is an extra multi position toggle switch which allows for multi recording
(superimposing) on the same track as well as twin track recordings.
