  • Chinon 7500 Power Cord

I have the weird 2-pin receptacle with the rectangular end for my Chinon 7500. I've tried everywhere to find one including reverse image on Google. Any ideas where to buy one? Thanks You!

Try any of your local flea markets or second hand shops. I usually always find things I need at ours. Good luck.

Thanks! The problem is that I can't even find a photo reference of it on the internet!

There are a few sellers on eBay that have this cord.

Thanks! Do you think this cord will work even though the “holes” are square and the pins on the 7500 are round?

Let me check on my Sankyo projector....it has the same outlet as the Chinon. I have one of those rectangle cords to test. So stand by I'll let you know.

I checked the rectangle plug and at least mine is too large for the socket. If it was smaller it would work. However I have another suggestion that has worked for me. You may even have a cord like this around the house.

It's called a two-prong two-pin power cord. These are usually connected to a power adapter brick. The only caveat is that sometimes the distance between the holes in the cord are too close or too far apart. However I have used these with my Sankyo projectors which have the same two prong outlet as the Chinon. I saw some of these listed on eBay however I would measure the distance for the prongs and ask the seller to measure the distance of the holes before ordering.

These chords are much easier to find. You might even try the Goodwill sometimes they have adapter cords.

Take the back cover off the projector, remove the existing socket, thread a new three wire cable through the opening, solder it to the right places inside your projector (adding a ground to the chassis). Now you never have to worry about losing the cable again and your projector is safely grounded. This task would take any electronics tech or electrician less than 10 minute to complete.

You should be able to get something like this and drop it in place too. They also make these with screw posts on the back so you can connect existing wiring with screw instead of soldering it if that is easier for you.

This company sells them - https://www.oaktreevintage.com/acces...eplacement.htm

I was able to replace the cable for my GAF 3100S with their inventory.

I have this same projector, that was also missing a cord. I was advised to go to eBay and find an old Kodak slide projector cord, and that worked for me. It cost me around $10
