  • Beaulieu 708 el

Hello, my beaulieu has a speed mismatch between the main drive and the capstan drive.
when I put it into sound position the bottom loop is lost. If I remove the capstan drive belt it's ok. The projector is also a lot slow to come to proper speed.
I need some help. Iam told there is a French chap that knows this problem and the solution
    Help!

    Hello Graham,

    - Is your Machine a 708 EL "Mono" or "STEREO" ?
Regulation Board for "Stereo" is a bit different from "Mono".

    - Does Capstan motor runs when machine power up ?
If not , often time T4 (transistor) is failed

    - Does main motor spins high for 18 or 24 fps as well ?
If yes, often time TP1 (BD646 Transistor) is short circuited

    - When Loop Tightener is manualy moved from right to left during playing on sound mode (no film loaded) , can you ear main motor slowing down ?

    - Did you get a fuse blown up ?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind Regards

    Phil

    NB
When rear cover is removed , each component you can see on PCB show a label. T4 and TP1 are label for STEREO Gegul Board only.
Labels are different for 708 Mono machine.

Thanks, it's mono. Yes the capstan runs when whitced on. The main drive starts a little slow but after a minute is.up.to.speed. no sound difference when moving the loop tightener
