  • Looking for an 8 mm take up reel for my Eumig Mark 501 projector

Looking for an 8 mm take up reel for my Eumig Mark 501 projector. I recently bought the projector which seems fine, but the plastic take up reel was cracked & warped preventing the film to wind properly on it.
Please let me know if you have one you'd sell, or where would be a good place to look for one? I';m in Canada; so it would be great to get one 'in' Canada if possible...

    Thanks

PS- Here's a pic of the one I have...As you can see I've tried to Crazy glue it with no luck & the warp 'narrows' the opening of the reel causing the film to sit on the outside of the reel rather than feed itself in to the centre...

    Hi Rudy,

Basically what will do for you is any auto-load 400 Ft. (180 Meter) Super-8 reel. The trick is you need one with those long "fingers" pointed to the spindle hole like your existing one has. The ones without will mean you will need to stop, put the end of the leader in a slot and resume. Deadly? No! -but the ability of those fingers to grab he sides of the leader and pull it to center just smooths the process.

I would think you wouldn't have to fish on eBay Canada very long to hook something nice.

Ones to seek? Gepe, Posso and certainly others.

Tuscan reels look really nice, but all of mine cracked so I avoid them now.

Still looking. I should have mentioned that they need to be 8" reels (like the one in the pic) as well.....
