Question: only recently, have I discovered that there was a Cineavision or scope 400ft digest of Dracula. My question is, is the edit of the 400ft scope digest, the same as the 409ft letterboxed digest?

The scope digest is basically a promo. It starts with producer Walter Mirisch talking up the film followed by a nicely edited sequence with scenes from the film, including many that are not in the 2x400' digest.

There is a fair amount of footage you can edit into the 2x 400ft that only appears in the 400 promo. At least 2-3 sequences. Mind you getting them to match print wise plus the sound variation is a problem. John Williams pounding score deafens you when it flicks back from the edit. One the best Blackpool bargains I ever had “brand new” from Derann £4.00 each for 2x400 and the 400. Least mine was good colour wise. Finally got the Blu Ray with the original colour. John Badham wanted to make the film in black and white and was refused so when DVD and Blu Rays came out they had modified the colour down.
