In just under two months we’ll be getting back together in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey to enjoy film, glorious film at the 28th CineSea Gathering of Film Collectors.
It's hard to believe that almost 15 years have passed since that first show. 15 years of people getting together to share their love of film. 15 years of watching, buying, selling, trading film and equipment in gauges from 8mm to 35mm. For me, 15 wonderful years of meeting with fellow collectors, spending our time together talking about film and enjoying a number of meals together.
Our schedule is as follows:
April 18 •Thursday Night Theme•
The official start to CineSea is our Thursday Night Show, a screening of short films brought by attendees that fall under a particular theme. Last time we explored hazardous and exciting territory with “Adventure!” and luckily we all made it back safely. Our next genre will allow many possibilities to choose films from…..and we'll be announcing that next month.
April 19 •Friday Double Feature•
People nominate prized titles from their collections and the highest vote-getter gets screened on Friday night. The second place film is shown on Friday afternoon. The submissions for CineSea 28’s Friday screenings will start in mid-March, which means it’s time to start thinking about the titles you’d like us to show!
April 20 •Saturday Part One: Dealer Day!•
The Saturday show starts at 10 AM and many, many projectors will be running non-stop and many, many films will trade hands right up to the dinner break. Dealer tables are available for $30 each. To reserve a table you can PM me or use the “Contact Us” link on our website .
•Saturday Part Two: Evening Screenings•
After the dinner break, we start the incredible Saturday night screening, where people bring films that they'd like to share (with a running time of 20 minutes or less) in Standard 8, Super 8, 16mm or 35mm. The assortment of films is mind boggling. In the past the screenings have run as late (early?) as 2 AM.
April 21 •Sunday•
We start packing up early on Sunday, however from 10:00 AM - Noon, folks have a last chance to check out the dealer tables!
About the “Sea” in CineSea: A big part of what makes this get-together so enjoyable is the location. There's a beautiful beach just a block away and you can always check out the famed Wildwood Boardwalk.
