Matthieu, the problem as you probably know is that the rubber around the metal shutter on the ST-1200HD turns soft and disintegrates.

It does appear from the photos that the rubber maybe turning soft by inconsistency in the colour of the black rubber. But hard to be sure without actually seeing / touching it.

That said, the earlier ST-1200 versions did not have this rubber around the shutter.

If the rest of the machine is good, then it’s common practice to carefully remove the soft rubber, although this is a messy procedure which does need a lot of care and advice so as not to damage the metal shutter, or indeed the rest of the machine.

It does result in the machine running slightly fast. Not so noticeable at 24 frames per second, but definitely at sound 18 frames per second.

All of that said, if the machine is running quietly and at speed then there isn’t really need to worry about the rubber until it fails.

And the same issue can occur with the rubber drive discs, although the rubber on the shutter was always the main fail.

You’ll know when it’s turning to goo as the machine will be slow or start, be inconsistent with speed, or begin to sound noisy / vibrate.

Maybe ask the seller if the projector runs up to speed quickly and stays there.

It is possible that the belt was restored: I did mine.

A lot of people just scrape 'em off when they go gooey, so if that's the case you could go that way too or restore it if you want.

These days it's basically expected and not the biggest challenge we run into at all.

I removed the old gooey rubber, but not replace it with a new belt. I have had no problems running the projector with The belt missing. Yes it is a dirty job, but with some sharp exacto or razor blades and some alcohol it's very doable. I also recommend some rubber gloves.

          Okay, thank you.
the rest of the machine looks like new.
          It is the origenal owner.
I go for it and solve as it goes
