    CANNERY WOE - 1961 - Sylvester & Speedy Gonzales - Warner Brothers cartoon - 7 minutes - Kodak SP - Techno Film release

    Sound = Excellent
    Colour = Reasonable
    Box = Original plastic Techno with colourful inlay

    Two Mexican mice, Manuel and Jose, are hungry and seek free cheese from a Re-election Mayor rally. But there's no cheese as a cat (Sylvester) is now on guard at the store. The mice recommend the services of Speedy Gonzales, the fastest mouse in all Mexico. There follows various attempts to get the cheese. But the rally does gets the cheese. Speedy gets a medal and Manuel and Jose are made "Official Cheese Inspectors".

    Not one of the best from Warner Brothers. It takes too long to introduce Sylvester and there's not much time left for the quite good gags.

    Only recommended if you just want to add a Warner Brothers cartoon to your collection.

    Maurice,

    Thank you for the review. I share your opinion of this one as the cleverest part is the title.

      Thank you, Doug

      There doesn't appear to be a cannery although the film does start with piles of tin cans. The two mice appear to overnight in a sardine can (El Steenko Sardinas) but that's all.
