Here we have an excellent new release of ABC adverts and 2 long top quality trailers. So what’s on this reel....

It starts off with a shot of a Projector with the ABC logo which then shows “Welcome to the Show”. We then have a series of 1970’s and 1980’s Adverts , some of which show many British stars of the time. It starts off with an Esso ad featuring a tiger, Terry Wogan advertising Bovril gravy, Reliant Robin’s 3-wheeled cars, John Le Mesurier advertising Cigars, Orson Wells telling us all about a brand of Sherry, Ready Brek breakfast (which is just great to have on this reel) plus a few more.

    BUGSY MALONE TRAILER (1976)
Lovely long trailer this which starts with Jodie Foster talking to camera and she pops up near the end. We also get many snippets of all the songs. Filmed in that ‘soft glow’ look of course as its set in the 1920’s. Great to have on Super 8.

    ESCAPE TO ATHENA TRAILER (1979)
Nice long trailer to this British comedy war film. Filmed mainly on Rhodes and featured a host of British and American stars of the day like Roger Moore, David Niven and Sonny Bono. Excellent colour on this as you can see on the screenshots and very sharp, looks brilliant on screen like 16mm quality.

Another winner from Dorun films. Top quality entertainment for your screen. Sound quality is also very good from the mono stripe.

Contact Dorun films for price and availability.

    Picture 10/10
    Sound 10/10

Such a fun reel of memories.

A friend of mine had a Reliant 850 and I can remember him offering to drop me home in it.
Fibreglass body and top speed 90mph on the motorway which I held on for grim life!

We have a local shop owner who uses one for business. I took the Fujicascope projector down to show him the reel as he had never seen the Robin advert. By the end of the 11 minute reel projected on his fridge we had a small audience.

Somebody on this forum was actually involved in the making ng of Bugsy Malone, but I can't remember who it is.

These adverts bring back so many memories of our younger days don't they. It's one of the wonderful things about REEL film and the quality is truly stunning particularly with the new Stereo sound dub.

I thought it might be Lee! Lee, some day, when I have a filthy big wad of cash, I will be buying some of these reels, if still available! ( Well, if negatives exist, then theoretically, they'd still be potentially available, eh?)
