Had the problem with the exciter lamp flickering and sometimes going out completely. Used the voltmeter to trace the fault and found out that the main connector on the audio boar was flaky. After close examination of the board found out cracked connector post solder. Reminded me of my old Toshiba TV where they would run the vias from the solder side to the component side of the board using those low quality posts. Had so many problems with that.
But anyway here are s few pics showing the issue. BTW, the problems with the exciter lamp can be caused by other issues, such as:
- Bulb itself
- Bulb socket contacts
- fuse
- switch
- bridge rectifier
