As mentioned, is there anything available similar to or better than the former offerings of our “friend” at the former Moviestuff? You know, like, actually receiving the product you paid for? The frame-by-frame capture thing seems to be popular here. Perhaps there’s an honest person that could provide such a device at reasonable cost?

I cannot claim that it was better than the Movie Stuff but was definitely a lot cheaper.
Had a few issues. Like running the projector at 7 FPS with the 100 Ohm series resistor with low torque.
Also the camera sometimes could mess up frames if your PC is slower and the camera cannot keep up.
Perhaps could have used a different projector or change the motor.
I also have several solutions for real time transfer with the ELP global shutter camera but the issue there is ghosting which some people do not like.
Also have a 16mm project with the iPhone X real time. very little ghosting.

Probably could do that with the TRV8 projector for 8mm.

There are several options on eBay and in some online shops that are based on modified projectors. But I don’t know anyone that used them.
