Yes, I've upgraded the original 1.3MP camera in the Retro8 Pro with the CM3 3.2MP. It is a much better camera. I have an over view at https://youtu.be/psiXSv6VdfM

According to FLIR Tech Support the CM3 camera that Evans sold with these 2K scanners are no better than newer models and won't (Probably)work with the software (fly Capture)..I see Evans is trying to resssurect movie stuff online..the bigger problem with these machines is the method used for back tension which is a massive problem and causes the jiggly wiggles and BIG Boppers..He tried to address the problem by designing a reverse trigger for film with no virgin"Factory Edge" (Film ran reverse in a projector)but that was actually more unstable..he "Personally set up and calibrated" a replacement that arrived basically Shattered inside from UPS dropping the box..He did offer to refund after I threatened to let judge Judy adjuticate
    and destroy him..

    Moviestuff Universal 2K Cam Upgrade?

The Moviestuff (Universal & Retro-8)Scanners Have very noisy cameras (metallic looking) has anyone tried upgrading the stock FLIR 2K camera to eliminate the noise? 16mm and 35mm is acceptable but I have a lot of Single-8 polyester film which requires noise reduction to look acceptable..the 4K upgrade is not Full Frame so Options are limited..the cam on the retro 8 is high contrast and super noisy but has better definition..will the program link up to a replacement cam?
Working...
