  • how to correct AE-flicker

    Hi!,

I am digitizing old and new footage with a frame-by-frame scanner.
    I made a dumb-mistake in filming:

I shot footage in an high contrast environment because of a strong sun coming through darker clouds.
The result is that the AE reacted on dark and light points and a flicker is in my footage.
I should have used the AE-lock.

    Sample: https://vimeo.com/519528045 (ektachrome 100D on a Canon 514XL)

Is there a technique to correct for my mistake (and for the same mistake I see in older footage that I digitize)?
I was thinking of pulling the darker frames and filling in the gaps with interpolation back to 18FPS. (butterflow)
But I would prefer to keep all the frames and maybe, samehow, balance the lighting to make a smooter footage.

Can anybody steer me in the correct direction? Many thanks in advance...
Preferably with a method that is Linux friendly/

I have had some success with "MSU Deflicker". See: https://timelapsenetwork.com/mini-tu...r-virtual-dub/
