Getting the best quality image on Wolverine Movie Maker Pro

Hi - I'm a newbie and just getting started digitizing my family's old films on the Wolverine Move Maker Pro.

In a recent scan (see screen capture below), I'm seeing a ton of grain/noise. Is this the best that I can expect from this unit? What can I do to get a better quality capture? Thanks so much for your help and insight!

Before going with the mod you can try AviSynth which Fernando mentioned above.
Looks like the grain is from the film and the degrain filter should fix that.
Even after that you will still see some digital artifacts which are inherited in the Wolverine design.
If you want to get rid of those then a Hawkeye mod may be an alternative for you.

Thanks, Stan. It's a little reassuring to hear that the grain is from the film itself. I'm not familiar with AviSynth at all. Will it give me better results in post than Premiere Pro?

I am not a Premiere Pro user Chris but quite a few people on the forum do use it. I am pretty sure it can degrain and deinterleave the video and much more. Hope someone with a Premiere experience responds here.

I use the Neat Video plugin filter with Adobe Premiere Pro. It is not free but I have found it to be an excellent degraining and sharpening tool for my telecine captures. I know black magic also has a denoiser application. I don't know how it compares to Neat Video, but I have seen some good reviews on YouTube for it.
