    I was watching a Documentary on youtube about the Home Video Format wars of 1970, the format that caught my interest was the Nordmende Colorvision, it didn't use Tape or a Disc but around 600' of Super 8 Film and converted it to video to show onto TV.

    Yes I remember the write-up of that in a magazine. you got half as long on colour than B&W as there were two picture frames side by side. For colour one held the luminence channel of the TV signal and the other what would have been the chroma from a TV signal that us usually combined on a sub-carrier by frequency division multiplex.

    I think the BBC went as far as a demonstration on Tomorrow's World of a 16mm version to archive their output. It wasn't successful and was never used!
