  • Black line on left of film

Hi there. I'm brand new to this. Just did my first reel on the wolverine pro and am on my second. I have changed to using a take-up box and I'm not threading the film through all the pins at the end. My question is the black line on the left. This records where the sprockets are and creats a black line on the left side of the video. I know I can crop this out with a video editor but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong and perhaps it shouldn't be showing in the first place.

Hi Marty. Check the frame adjust and zoom section of the Wolverine manual. By the looks of it, the frame seems to be adjusted too much to the right and you are seeing the sprocket holes and the black left edge of the film. Hope this helps. Ah yes, make sure the S8/R8 switch is set properly.

Another possibility - is the Super8/Double8 lever set at Double8?

Thank you. I did not know how to use the frame adjustments. That fixed it.

Hello. Glad you sorted the framing.

Are you using the box to collect the film as the takeup spool jerks the frame?

          Good luck with your digitizing.
