What is the significance of selecting the reel size on these units before scanning? Does it effect the file size or the torque on the motorized take up reel?
Are you referring to the 8mm vs super8 switch? The switch changes the gate position for proper claw operation. The takeup reel is run with the 12V motor that gets the constant 12V from the power supply and it uses a mechanical spring loaded clutch that is not adjustable.
In the manual available online : On the menu screen ..... " select the OK button to proceed selecting the size of your reel" with options 3" 5" 7"
