This project is based on a Sankyo projector and ELP web camera.
    Parts:
    Sankyo1000 projector
The camera used is the usb ELP model ELP-USBFHD04H-FV. It uses an AR0330 sensor with 1080P resolution.

Replaced the webcam lens with a better quality 16mm AICO lens.
Will provide more details within a few days.

In the last two months, I acquired both a Sankyo Dualux 1000 and a 2000 with the express purpose of this project. I can't wait for the details. The capture video looks phenomenal.

          Update:
Installed a 75 Ohm 100W resistor in series with the rheostat center connector to get a wide range of slow speed. Ran at 8 FPS and here is the test video as is without any post. One flicker and a few bumps due to worn out film. The flicker at the beginning is before I slowed the system down to 8 FPS.

IMHO this is the way to go for the budget system and surprisingly good quality transfer.

Awesome. I look forward to more details and results. I guess with sound film and sound projector you could also capture the audio in sync. I have over 60 hours of film I want to transfer. This may be the ideal and affordable solution. Thanks.

Stan, Can you explain how you arrived at the 7 frame per second capture? Why not 1, or 15 or any other frame rate?

                      Hi Kim,
My capture sw has a limit of 7 FPS on my system. If I go higher I see some flicker on the top of the image. I have not spent much time analyzing where is the bottleneck is. The sw is available at my github site.
