  • Wolverine 8mm Film Converter - Right Reel Won't Stop Turning

    Hello Everyone,
I am renting a Wolverine 8 mm film converter to transfer my family's 8mm home movies to digital. It was working fine for a while, and then all of a sudden, the right reel would not shut off. Even if the machine is turned off, the right reel still turns. The only way for the right reel to stop turning is to unplug the machine. Does anyone know how to fix this? I still have quite a few movies to get through.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

    Hi Crissy,

As you are only renting it, I wouldn't worry.

Let it carry on spinning and let the film just drop into a box and wind back on spool afterwards. There will be less jitter and overall better result.

      Hi Crissy,
You can follow Graham's advice but in case you wanted to know what the real reason is for continuous spinning, it is blown (shorted) output drive transistor located in the power supply. I fix these but I do not think it is worth the money when you sum up my labor costs and and shipping costs.
