  • Diffuser for Retroscan Universal Mk1 - 2K

I have just acquired an old Universal Mk 1 - with the 2K camera.
According to illustrations online, the gate should have what appears to be a white translucent diffuser above the LED cutout on the base, and this is missing. Does anyone have any information on this, so I can make a replacement (assuming from 'LED Spectrum' quality perspex/plexiglass or equivalent?)
    Thank you.

Not sure if it'll work, but I've seen people use cut ping-pong balls as the white diffuser.

Or even a bit more creative by chopping it out from a dead led bulb. In theory this should be a perfect substitute, since it is specifically made to DIFFUSE the light in the first place. Most are made of thin /soft plastic so it could be fairly easy to cut to shape too.

        I bought one of these:

I pulled it apart and used the opaque plastic diffuser plate, which is 53mm diameter. I had to sand off a few mms so it would fit in my Eumig projector globe holder.
