NOW IS THE TIME
It was 1974 and I started my first paid job at Uncle David’s Carvel ice cream shop. Only age 14 & I was introduced to the workforce. The daily grind of setting aside hours per week. To report as scheduled, perform work, and receive a pay check every seven days.
Through it all, I’ve served cones and sundaes; stocked shelves in stores; washed dishes in restaurants; cooked burgers; mowed lawns, and ran many films.
There comes a time when you realize enough is enough.
On December 10, 2024 after 50 years in the work force I will hit the time clock for the very last time. I seriously believe my late Mother & Father would be very supportive and best of all very proud of me.
And I will probably be more busy after that than ever before.
Ahh yes. Retirement within days! One down and five more to go * ……….
