Buckingham Eiki M-1 converted to 9.5mm

Hi all
I'm in the process of selling Dad's projectors (Maurice). Can anyone tell me a approx value for the above please. Comes with 2 spare bulbs.

I can send a full list of his projectors if anyone's interested.

Sadly Jane there is no easy answer to your question. They would have easily sold for £100 or more a couple of years ago but 9.5mm enthusiasts have diminished rapidly since then. Suggest you try it at this price if it is in full working order though they were well over twice this price originally. At 90 years of age I have outlived most of my fellow 9.5mm enthusiasts and our u k club Group 9.5 fished last year. I think you Dad may have been a member.

I would try eBay though. Personally I think it is worth more than that but I'm not a nine-fiver.

Normally the Buckingham 9.5 conversions usually go for around £1000 but not seen this model converted, only the usual Blue RM and Black ST models. Ebay is probably the way to go as there are still a few 9.5 enthusiasts who want a reliable projector.

Hi Jane, I am very sorry for your loss.

Prices do seem to have come down for these recently as Ken says. Last year a similar machine sold on eBay for a final price of £361. I know of two others that have changed hands in the last couple of years for £400 and £450, so well down from their original price of £795. A friend of mine may well be interested if you wish to sell for those sorts of prices - PM me if you wish to discuss further. Either way, very best of luck with the sale.

I assume it's a typo and you mean £ 1.000 ((a few years ago, indeed).

The Group 9.5 has not (or I misunderstood) finished. There is (sadly) no more printed magazine, but there is still an online one (thanks, Dino!), and the 9.5 projections restarted recently. The next one should be held in January.

Very sorry to hear that your Dad has passed, I had wondered why I had not seen his chatty and helpful posts in so long. I did not know Maurice personally, but as an occasional poster on this forum, I will miss seeing his contributions (and the thumbnail with the natty Bow Tie!) as I am sure others do.

I can't add much to what others say. Buckingham values tends to depend on whether anyone is looking for one at the time it comes up for sale...ebay is the best route and prices will depend on how quickly you want the sale. The best Buckinghams have sold for upwards of £1,000 in the past, but this earlier conversion does tend to be less sought after (I think one sold in East Anglia a couple of years ago from ebay a bit under £200 in untested condition). As brutal as this sounds, a 9 day auction with a start of £100.00 would be my approach for a quickish sale.

Love to see a list of the projectors for sale too.

Yes Dom, it was a typo error. Group 9.5 as a club has finished. There are no more regular meetings at Pimlico or annual Get Together sessions like we had at Harpenden. The website continues by Dino as it used to be run by Grahame Newnham.
