  • Calling Thai members see these vintage stuffs (some 8mm cameras & projectors)

I am calling Thai members ( Nantawat Kittiwarakul ) or who live in Thailand to see this video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM6qKQ9XJUo

Have you ever visited this place? I found there seems 8mm camera and projector too.

Just curios to know are the vinyls worth to buy?, as Japan import vinyls are usually clean but the title is more important.

    cheers,
    winbert

Yup, I had been there several times when I was still in Bangkok (not anymore unfortunately). That place is DEFINITELY worth visiting if you're here. Probably the largest warehouse for vintage audio / camera stuff in this country.
The price at the start of the cycle is reasonable ($70-100 a piece) but the fun part is when they start the discount, which may go as far as 80-90% at the end of the cycle. So yes you'll have the chance to get some good stuff at only $7-10 a piece at the clearance sales. I once got a decent TEAC V1010 casette in good working order for only $30 for example.
So once again - if you have a chance to visit this place, go visit it!

Yes, I read in the comments section that they got new container coming from Japan every two months. So if the new container arriving the 90% discount applies.

My curiosity, do they have Reel-to-Reel which can take 10.5" reels?

Also for amplifier, is there a kind that trully sought after like Sansui AU 5900 above series, Marantz, Tascam, Studer, ReVox, etc rather than the modern ones? And speaker like vintage JBL, Pioneer HPM series, etc

And for 8mm or 16mm related, any?

It would be hard to expect for exact model - there are too many items to check!πŸ˜† But it's safe to expect Japanese products rather than western ones.
For photo-related items they're mostly still film cameras, and some super8 items. Not much 16mm stuff to be seen however.

What about vinyls... I see thousand vinyls lying on the floor. Any good music (Rock, Pop, Funk) or mostly unknown Japanese artists, Classical, instrumental and oldies but (not) goldies ones?

That's probably what to expect - nothing fancyπŸ˜” mostly obscure Japanese artist, with occasionally Western music. I

f there's any gems ever show up it wouldn't live long , someone will grab it in no time. Therefore don't set the bar too high for vinyls.

An interesting video, my main concern buying from such a place would be does anything actually work? The state of some of the stereos shows they have been mistreated. They might be ok for spare parts, but 40% plus of something that needs repair is really not that much of a bargain.

The main issue is voltage which is set 100v for Japanese market with mostly without the option to change it (then another issue is frequency 50hz vs 60hz which will be a matter for turntable without speed adjustment, but not for speaker or amplifier). If we have transformator then it would not a big deal (but frequency issue is still).

As in video, we can test the equipments before buying.. so not kind of gambling here.
