I remember watching this on TV a while ago. Just the other day I came across it on you-tube thinking that Steve or anyone else interested in railways might like to watch it, I thought I would post a link to it here. I found it truly fascinating to watch, however the video is 50 odd minutes long, but well worth it....enjoy

My last really serious model railroad (-at Mom and Dad's house: what does that tell you?!) was O scale narrow gauge. Every tie had to be cut to length, stained and glued down. One rail was spiked down and the second one spiked to gauge. Later ballast was spread and glued into place.

-I was pretty pleased if I went downstairs after dinner and laid a foot of track for the evening.

The idea of 10 Miles of track is just plain terrifying!
