  • I wished I had kept my mouth shut.

Earlier in the year I promised my mates children, that I would build them a toy theatre for Christmas, and I have just finished it today.
The main body was cut using a CNC router machine out of MDF, and all of the mouldings were printed on a 3d printer.
I could have never dreamt that it was going to take so long to build, as I started this back in June.
It has a working flytower with counter weights and a LED lighting system.

I just hope they like it, as I never want to see it again.

The children will love it. Expect requests for additions no later than December 26, 2024.

"Thank you Steve. We need a movie screen with adjustable masking and a Waterfall main curtain."

Show them "The Sound of Music" and get them to perform "The Loneley Goat herd" in it.

I am in awe of your 3d printer skills...not to mention your patience and dedication to complete the project.
I showed the pics to my wife, who is into various time consuming crafts and her reaction was OH WOW. Says it all 👏👏👏👏

They have been available as card kits from Victorian times. there is a shop in Covent Garden in London that produces them in various sizes. Good comment , Brian!. Do admire your 3d printing skills though Steve. When I was a youngster I had one of the card printed ones and put a white card cine screen on the back scene so it looked like a cinema proscenium and projected pictures from a toy dslide projector onto it.
