I could have happily listened to another verse or two! Brilliant.

Phil, I believe that is Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Look it up, you are in for a treat. I used to have it on 16mm. It too has it's own catchy song...

Phil & Rob, I'm so glad you liked it.

Rob is absolutely right, the clip is from the 1964 film Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. In college I took a cinematography course with a wonderful teacher, David Quaid. He talked about being the director of photography on the low budget film and how they had all of two weeks to get it done. David is better known for his other features, including the Burt Lancaster film The Swimmer and the Tony Perkins starrer Pretty Poison. Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is now in the public domain.

Rob, I'd love to have a 16mm print of it!

Wow, I actually saw The Swimmer for the first time this year; my movie buff friend brought around the Blu-ray and we had a screening. It's a beautifully crafted film. Would never had realised David Quaid had been DP on both. What a great fun fact!

Sadly, my 16mm print of SCQTM turned beet red and developed a rather strong vinegar smell (even though it was colour). I was very upset to lose it.

Doug, you do realise that we'll all be expecting a new CineSea Christmas song & video every year now...

          Rob,

I'll have to get started now! The previous video (no song) was a countdown to the New Year - 2024

              Doug,
Excellent work on the video, truly a Christmas surprise. I know a lot of work went into that. As mentioned by others: before you know it, it will become a 'must-have' each December 😊

              Happy New Year,
              Claus.
