  • [HELP] I need French members to translate this discussion

    Hello French members,

I am ordering something from FNAC and it is a bit confusing for me. Because the item seemed to be available but until today (it has been 3 days) the status is like they have not prepared anything but they have received my order.

So I contacted FNAC customer service and here is the answer:

I can use Google Translate to understand this but Google will not understand the social culture of the people who are speaking. Sometimes it will be misleading. That is why I need you guys.

What I need to know when you say in France "d'approvisionnement", does it mean that the item exists in FNAC's storage, someone just has to pick it up and send it to delivery departement? If so, it is a relief for me because I can wait and I do not need to look it from another sources.

But if in French culture, saying "d'approvisionnement" can also be understood as "I'm not sure, it seems to be available but if it's not in storage, I'll place an order with the supplier". If that's the case, I have to step down because I knew the supplier has told me they didn't have it anymore.

    So what's your suggestion?

    thanks
    winbert

    Although, I'm not French ...

I understand they don't have it, yet. But, the way the answer is written, that's, indeed, not 100% clear.

This is what I hate, i,e using diplomatic wording for marketing. I am a diplomat my self but in buying and selling we have to be straight forward to avoid misunderstanding.

But any more thought from others?
