Sankor Sankor 16D Anamorphic Lens - Bell & Howell 16mm

    Hello all

This lens belonged to my late Father, Maurice Leakey. I've listed it on Ebay and have received a query:

    " I wouldn't be familiar with anamorphic lens.I currently use a 16mm bell and howell 2592
Would it fit on this or on the Elf NT2 you have for sale or does it depend on the existing lens in the projector"

I'd be grateful for any info that could help me answer these questions.

Of course, if Dad was around, he'd be the first to answer and share his wealth of knowledge šŸ’œ

    Hi!

There are two different meanings for ā€žfittingā€œ.

The Sankor is an anamorphic attachment. It gets placed in front of the projectorā€™s lens.

    Fitting 1:
Some projectors have special clamps/holders for this purpose. When they donā€™t or when the clamps/holders donā€™t fit, you can use a separate holder. When you are selling the Sankor as is (=without holder) and when the buyer doesnā€™t already own one, then ā€žit doesnā€™t fitā€œ.

    Fitting 2:
An attachment can cause vignetting. This depends on the focal length of the projectorā€˜s lens and its diameter. It also depends on the Sankorā€˜s diameter and length. As the mentioned projectors have replaceable lenses, itā€™s hard to tell whether the Sankor ā€žfitsā€œ or not. E.g. when the buyer is using a 50mm lens, it might work. But when heā€™s using a 15mm lens, then it might not work.
