Authorities have ruled out a gas leak. In a news release Tuesday, after an "extensive investigation for gas leaks and carbon monoxide at Gene Hackman's home," the sheriff's office announced "there were no significant findings."
It is a sad, tragic ending. I'll remember an actor that I personally never saw give a bad performance. Though a minor film, compared to his other efforts, I really liked "Uncommon Valor", I always thought that it beat the hell out of "Missing in Action", released around the same time.
In the end Gene Hackman had a great career and long life. In terms of their passing their reclusive lifestyle and lack of any outside assistance caused their demise. Seal your fate with the choices you make.
We watched that "French Connection" feature film on Super 8 last night. It was printed off of the 35mm master material, (probably), as, it goes back and forth from letterboxing to full frame. The color still looks really good.
