  • I’ve made a cartoon

After Christmas work was none existent so I decided to make good use of my down time and started creating an animation short. I still have a minute and 30 seconds still to produce but it should be finished in a few months. Here is a trailer for it and I will post a link when it’s completed. https://youtu.be/4d9j-6fZO9Q?feature=shared

I'm not a big fan of cgi, but great work on your short! Are you looking to make a series for TV or the internet/streaming?

Very impressive Phillip, that's a great talent you have. Light years away from my own first stop motion animation effort on a Bolex C8 in 1959!

Thanks for you kind words. Yes Osi, I’d like it to be an internet series. Paul your stop motion is excellent. I have been creating stop motion with my grandsons with plastercine. They love it.

Excellent work Philip, looking forward to seeing the finished cartoon. Back in the 50’s at school, I used to attempt similar with a pin, scratching matchstick men and animals onto 9.5mm black leader, those were the days!!!

Well done Phillip! What software are you using? The animated film, Flow, which won the Oscar for best animated short last year was created by a relatively small crew using Blender.

I’m pleased you like it. I made it with C4D.

I wonder if he says "Hello my darlings" like the British comedy actor Charlie Drake. At least he got the gender right, unlike Donald Duck and Daffy Duck!

Excellent Phillip. You are very imaginative. Hope we will be able to see the end product.

What do you mean by that?

Joerg, I think Brian is referring to the point that male ducks are known as Drakes! It is one of the rare occasions where the species is named as the female rather than tha male. One the quirks of the English language. Perhaps Donald should have been called Donald drake!!😉
