  • Stop motion Puppets

    Greetings friends!

I’ve been in an artistic rut as of late with my drawing, so I decided to branch out and get creative a different way. I’ve always been interested in stop motion animation and all the legends involved in the medium, so I decided to take my first attempt at making my own puppet!

after some experimenting with a lot of wire armatures, plumbers putty, foam, liquid lares, and fur - I’ve made my first puppet (of sorts). Introducing BENNY THE GORILLA.

now, Benny probably won’t be in any stop motion films as he was my first experience and full of valuable lessons on how to make better puppets in the future, but I still love him anyways! He can move his body with fully independently moveable hands and toes, but I made his body to thick, so he very limited in his range.

Anyways, I have a few more ideas for my next puppets that I’ll hopefully make! Would like to attempt some dinosaurs and my own version of universal monsters, but for today I celebrate my gorilla friend.

Be a shame not to see Benny "come to life", Lincoln, even as just a test!

I love that wonderfully deranged face on that puppet.
