  • Huge Collection of Films Rescued

Huge Collection of Films Rescued, on 8mm and 16mm from Elderly Collector.
Sadly some Collections end up in Land Fill, as Relatives may need to Clean up Deceased Estates.
Also some Films turn Red or have Vinegar Syndrome or go Solid.
Here the Periscope Film Team, are able to Save many Films by Repairing and Colour Correcting
in Transfer, and we can enjoy their Results.

Film Transfers I found of interest on their youtube Channel,

a Promotional film on Making a Super 8 Film, using Camera Techniques, Editing and Screening etc.

and a Kodak Basic Movie Making Film, also to help Educate the Super 8 Filmmaker in using Camera and Editing.

The fact of collections ending up in landfill was one otf the reasons fro the "Film is Fabulous" initiative. The want people to put in their wills what they want to be done with their films.

It makes me long for the moment that, in one of these secreted collections, one might find the missing footage from, for instance, "The Magnificent Ambersons". Hey, it's totally possible! Nearly each and every frame of "Metropolis" has been found over time. A long trek, to be sure, but it's like when we, as collectors find a print that we have sought for years, ( and then, to be honest, actually feeling a little let down that the conquest is finished😞).
