John Clancy's list of favorite films is the topic of his latest post on his Youtube channel, Movie Collector.
TOP TEN FILMS of all time by Movie Collector
As John said, if you ask him for his list of favorites today, it will be different than the list made yesterday.
I can't think of a just one movie I consider to be on my top ten list. The list to pick from it too large. John says that his favorites tend to be those he saw when he was younger. Can you list any of your top favorites; or does that list change too often?
I've been asked what my ten favourite films are many times and each time I've replied with a list, it's been different. Hence, I set about having repeat screenings of many of my favourite films to try to comprehensively pin down the top ten and put them into some sort of order. It's proved to be impossible and so for this video I actually have three films in tenth place. That helped to give me a starting point but I am fairly confident that if I ever go through this process again, several of the films listed will be in a different position.
I also mention some other great films after going through the top ten. If I were to have seen some of these particular titles when I was younger then it's possible they would be in my top ten today.
Within this video you will see films presented on 35mm and Super 8 film gauges as well as 4K home video. LaserDisc, DVD, Blu-ray and VHS also feature. I've had a lifetime of film and video collecting as well as a love of cinema which means that there should be something of interest for everyone in this one.
