  • Not even a broken hand will detour my film-watching.

Last Tuesday I not very gracefully tripped on my cat's leash and fell face down onto my cement patio. Got a decent cut over my left eye...a bruise and scraped cheek bone.. and a fractured hand. Paramedics from my 9-1-1 call quickly stopped the bleeding and whisked me off to the ER. My neighbor drove me home after five hours in the ER. Despite the pain I just kept thinking ... I hope I can still thread my projectors

I got a permanent cast on Thursday and was able to run my Eumig 824,,,YAY! I'm sure I won't have trouble with the others either. I have to keep the cast on for at least 4 weeks.

      Janice,

Ouch!! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope everything heals quickly and don't be fooled by your cat's innocent looking face....this may be part of a despicable plan.

So sorry to read this thread !

By the way, what is (or what are) the "ER" ? E for emergency ? If correct, what stands R for ?

Hope you have a speedy recovery Janice, I often think it can be the simplest of things we do that can cause injury. Years ago Steven my son who was about 11 years old at the time, broke his wrist after falling awkward from a stool after climbing on it to change a 16mm reel of Star Wars. He had been playing rugby that year, where in truth he would have had a greater chance of getting hurt from getting tackled etc, but got through the session just fine. It was a simple thing like that reel change that did it. Even going for a bike ride through the plantation, its not the tree or anything like that when wizzing around, its when you completely stop, simply lose your balance and fall over on your side would you believe. I have done that a couple of times.

The conclusion I came to, it seems to happens when you least expect it.

Get better soon, Janice. It's always the little unexpected things that get us isn't it?

                    Hi Janice,

I'm so sorry! I hope you feel better soon!

-and I got this eerie feeling the last couple of days: "Where's Janice?"

Just a Note: My wife bought a harness for the saner of our two cats a few weeks ago. I told her I've never seen a cat being "walked" on a leash do anything but fall on its side and be dragged as a gesture of passive resistance! (You have to keep flipping them so they wear evenly!)

Watching the two of 'em harness the cat was hysterical! (Like watching somebody trying to stuff an octopus in a glove!)

So sorry to hear this Janice. Unfortunately, no matter how careful we are in life, theses freak accidents just happen. Maybe you should give your cat some ice cream:

Paul Adsett That video was hysterical!

Steve Klare I walk Buster all the time. He doesn't go very far, but likes to sniff the bushes, roll in the dirt, and eat the grass. My grandson Jonathan walked him for me this past week. Jonathan drove up from SoCal with my son to take care of me. They went back home today.

Definitely unexpected. My cat's long tether leash and my legs were at the wrong place at the wrong time. I fell like a rock. This was the first time I have ever broken anything. Thanks guys for the well-wishes....also typing with one hand is a bear

I have experienced arms / legs in pot and know exactly what you are going through. I wonder how you are going to pass the time waiting for it to heal?...........now.......let me think..........!!!!
