A little bit unusual thread but a good one to document popular Super 8 film releases that have now been made available on Blu-Ray which may have faded into the land of red, pink or just plain nostalgia.
AFRICA SCREAMS
I still project my Super 8 sound feature AFRICA SCREAMS and always enjoy watching the boys Abbott and Costello in this 1949 gem. Early 70's they were so popular on S8 and as old hands will tell you many films were made available.
A good few decades on this year sees a wonderful restoration by 3D Film Archive and from what I've seen so far we are in for a treat thanks to some excellent resto and research work and a new BR being issued by ClassicFlix http://www.classicflix.com/products/...imited-edition
It is a limited edition pressing and does contain some wonderful extras including Colour trailers and real 3D etc.
Over recent years some of my own 50 year old S8 film prints I have retired into something of a Super 8 collectors archive after the prints have been shown hundreds of times in some cases replacing with a restored Blu-Ray. Its a bit like a vault of memories including the odd scratch and shrinkage making good projection a non starter.
I'm looking forward to receiving this new Blu-Ray release and a very welcome one for fans of the old Super 8 feature particularly with the extras.
Over to you..
