I've recently had a pair of standard 8mm rewind arms come in (which I'm keeping), and along with it was some reels and this book How to make 8mm Films, a Focal Cinebook (8th Edition, first published 1954), I suppose with the date of publication this was aimed at the Standard 8mm market. It's in lovely condition, and cost 15'6 net (15 Shillings and 6d) which was really a lot of money in 1966, so you would have had to be firmly attracted to 8mm making 8mm cine films to pay out for this paperback (yes a paperback with that value). over 180 pages of info, it's really an unusual find.
