In the early 1960's my uncle appeared on quiz show TAKE YOUR PICK and eventually he won a Reliant 3 wheeler delivered to his drive way. Keenly he hopped into it and set off down his drive onto the main road rolling it over on the first turn. The Robins you still see around do shift and can do 80mph quite easily. OH MOOTHER!
Many (many) years ago my friend had one. If I remember correctly, the starter was a long lever by the driver which you had to violently pull. But, it never seemed to start on the first pull.
