Outdoor "Silent Cinema" - Wireless Headphones

Does anyone have any experience with "silent cinema" screenings? No, not silent films........
A possible outdoor screening is coming up and blasting audio through speakers is not an option. Audio could be sent through an FM wireless transmitter to wireless headphones (or radios with headsets), but I was wondering about other alternatives that members may have come across.

Not done it for films but for a while the Amateur Theatre I help at was equipped with a hearing aid loop system basically an amplifier with a very low impedance out put feeding a single loop of wire round the auditorium. Hearing aids had a T setting to receive from this system.
