    I still have a feeling that, like some colour reversal home development kits, the last bath should have been a stabiliser solution. As this would seem to do nothing visibly to the result a speed and cost conscious lab might omit that stage.

      Stored in normal type conditions Kodak stated that LPP stock was supposed to resist fade for 99 years. I own a lot of film and there is not a single reel of Eastman color I own from 1952 - 1981 that has not started fading. I do have Eastman and Eastman SP prints that are much better than others, but there is evidence of fade in them all.
