The humble cassette Tape, came out in 1963 by Phillips in Belgium. The Compact Cassette was a good way to record sound for Super 8 Filmmakers.
When I started seriously Shooting Super 8 Kodachrome in the 1990's it cost around $16 a roll of Silent or around $29 for Sound, so Buying a Blank 90 min Cassette for around $2 was a good option. Some Super 8 Projectors had built in Cassette Players like Nizo.
Amazingly Cassettes are still being made, Blank or Pre-recorded by National Audio Company, USA.
