French tv has just put a subject in the 8pm news about Walt Disney. They said that Walt Disney saw in Paris a cine poster of several oh is cartonnes shown in the same screening, something that was not done in the US at that time. Walt Disney entered the cinema and saw people laughthing during one hour and the half. It seems that this experience gave him the idea to make a cartoon feature and it's said that he asked a poster that he showed to his bankers, back in the US. The name Disney comes from the French name d'Isigny that became over the centuries d'Isny and then Disney. The Snow White cartoon contents houses inspired by Normandy style. The Aristocats shows jazz bands in Saint-Germain des Prés (Paris). The cathedral of Strasbourg's automats inspired the ones seen at the begining of Pinocchio. The castels of the Loire were models for the ones seen in the first Disneyland. The city of Carcassone inspired the castel of the Sleeping Beauty.
