After reading a recent post which showed hairs in a projector's gate, I suggest that projector owners should have, at least, one gate brush in their collection. Here is one for sale. Some are available as Blower Brushes.
Wittner's prices are ridiculous, 8 Euro's plus postage for a little brush!
My preference is to use disposable cotton swabs moistened with furniture polish, followed by a blast of compressed air.
I agree, Graham, most new projectors came with a similar gate brush. I have quite a few, some with a plastic flat (opposite) end to gently scrape away any emulsion deposits.
