He was one of those "character actors" that you always recognized, was nearly never a lead actor, but really added a lot to any film he was in. Take his roles in the Superman films. Without that bumbling sidekick character, Lex Luther wouldn't have been half as interesting.
Saddened to read this. He was a fascinating face and always enjoyed here in Superman and many others. One of those welcoming faces you see on screen which are rarer today perhaps but so enjoyable. Kind thoughts to his family and friends.
Very sad to hear of his passing. I just watched him in the 1986 Rodney Dangerfield movie "Back to School." He played Dean Martin 😁 Ned Beatty was always good in whatever part he played.RIP
