    Winbert, are you referring to the CRT projectors? If so then I would have to say 'it depends'. It would be beneficial to see one set up correctly or speak to users on an A/V forum (they are out there). Or are you referring to the JVC projector I mentioned?

      I am referring to CRT projectors. I was imagining someone invested this in his/her home theatre and what he/she will get now with their $100m-sh investment.

        Well the same amount of money now would probably get you some kind of 4K HDR projector, such is the rate at which technology progresses. I imagine you can get an entry level 4K DLP for the same price a 1080p projector sold for just a few years ago.
        Without wishing to generalise the sort of consumers who buy the very best cutting edge equipment like to stay on the cutting edge which involves upgrading regularly. Very few items of equipment escape this save for perhaps audio gear like really choice speakers or amps
