  • Super 80 Film Fair

Does anyone remember the Super 80 Film Fair that was held in Blackpool in 1980. It was held in a north shore hotel and was very well attended. I had been in the hobby for about three years then. I recal that Tony Shapps of the Widescreen Centre was there. He was showing a Cinevision reel of trailers, Captain Nemo & The Underwater City, Ice Station Zebra and Where Eagles Dare which was so good I purchased it outright. I believe Derann were plugging Raise the Titanic and I bought the 2 x 400’ version in scope. Back then there were a lot more dealers around and the package movie age was in full boom.

It was held in August and the weather was sunny and hot. There must be some film fans who attended. Maybe someone has a few photographs of some Super 8 shot on the day. Here’s hoping.

    Happy Screenings
