  • eBay International Shipping

When I buy films from the USA the sellers usually offer transit via the Global Shipping Program.
However, I have just ordered a Super 8 Digest to which the seller says:- "International buyers welcome, I now offer eBay International Shipping for your convenience."
When I checked the final purchase details I see that British VAT has been added.
Does the parcel coding indicate that VAT has been paid, and will it avoid any British Customs Duty?

Well, in view of no answers, I am now answering my own question.

"A Night At The Opera" part 2, was ordered on 25th December.

It arrived today, and was delivered by Royal Mail. No extra payment was demanded, not only that, there appeared to be no mention of the content's value by the sender, nor was there a customs label. It travelled by United States Postal Service as Priority Mail.

As I said above, eBay did add VAT to the sale.

The film's total cost was $54. ($29, plus $25 postage.) It was probably cheaper than using the Global Shipping Program.
