And just for fun my favourite could of been Bond would of been Idis Elba we at least we have Luther ( in the UK ) to keep us right on the last one.

( If overseas or you`ve not seen Luther re how good Idris could of been, check it out, but prepare yourself !!! its a serious ride ).

Sentimental favorite number 1? Connery. Best Bond? My personal opinion? Craig. Least favorite, Moore ... he was just too danged smug for me. I'll have to think of my favorite films, though. Though I didn't like the Moore Bonds, I am partial to "For Your Eyes Only", as it got rid of a lot of the gadgets, and went for some really good action and stunts. I'm also quite partial to " Never Say Never Again".

My favorite will always be "You Only Live Twice" because it will always have a special place in my life. In 1968 I was in the summer before Kindergarten, and Mom and Dad rented a cabin at a camp up in the Lake Chaplain region way Upstate New York. There was a drive-in theater close by.

We showed up with Mom's first car: a yellow 1966 Mustang coupe with the optional 289ci V8, to find "You Only Live Twice" playing. My parents were a little concerned about the effect of Mr. Bond's romantic Hi-Jinx on a five year old, but the only thing that bothered me was them dumping that perfectly good car in the ocean! (Never mind the guys inside with the machine guns!)

-it just may be the first movie I ever saw.

I still remember the movie, the big screen, the speaker hanging in the window and the tray of food from the refreshment stand.

My parents, that car, the drive in theater and the summer camp are all gone now, but at least I still have the memories of that night!

James Bond will always be Sean Connery to me! The others can even be great in their own ways, but to me he set the standard.

Seam to be a rare showing and did like the opening sequence.

Guessing as the first Bond to me. Didn't conceive of other actors playing the same roll. It was all real so when Roger came along. Took some getting used to.

Favorite film:

You Only Live Twice, in fact when I sold all my Connery Bond films, this was the last to go. I actually had my 35mm IB Tech print professionally transferred to a Blu-ray before I sold it.

Runners Up:

From Russia With Love, another one that hurt when I sold my 35mm IB Tech print, but sometimes one needs to make hard choices.

Man With The Golden Gun, While all the Roger Moore films were mindless fun, this is the only one that I could believe that he was a spy with a license to kill. Years ago Roger Moore was doing a book signing of his biography at a local book store here in New Jersey. There was a line through the store, out the door, and around the block. Everyone was telling Roger what their favorite Bond film, or episode of The Saint was. When it was my turn, I told him I thought he great in Ffolks, Roger stopped signing and told me how much fun he had making that one, and he wished they had made more of the series. Eventually the book store staff shooed me away to get the line moving again.

First Bond Film:

Thunderball, my parents took me into New York City to see this one at the DeMille Theatre on Broadway. I still remember the huge billboard that wrapped around the the building with the underwater sleds sticking out and slightly rotating up and down. I wish I had a picture of it. I was sick that day and I puked in the aisle. In spite of that I was hooked on James Bond.

NO TIME TO DIE

Love all the Bonds but for me this covers so much more than any other also tipping a hat to what has gone before. We went to see it a number of times at the Kinema including Imax, then watched the new 4K UHD BR twice. The film made quite an impression. 😉

Close second would be Goldfinger or The Living Daylights.

No Time to Die is a movie franchise end. It allows new growth with an understanding or recognition of the past and allowing the future freedom.

A book is writen. A story. The book is still there and the story, based on the book can be retold.

I look forward to the new Bond. Hopefully without the the awkwardness of the Dr Who transition. Just be Bond.

I hope the new bond is more like the old bond but I don’t think it will happen. Bond is supposed to be a cold killer, not a sensitive chap with teddy bears tucked in his pants.

I really do hope that " No Time To Die" really is a franchise ender. Hollywood, more often than not, tends to royally screw up franchises than help them.

Ghostbusters with women, bombed. Oceans 11 with women, bombed. Dr who with a woman, the lowest viewing figures ever for Dr Who. The bond producers have said bond will always be a man. There are great Dramas already with women, killing Eve is a great show, not because it has women as it’s main protagonists, it’s because it’s well written and well acted. The entertainment industry is there to entertain, not force agendas on people which is what is happening at the moment.

Craig's Bond seems to be on his own universe, completely different from "other Bond". This is the first time (also the last time?) we see one actor playing the role from the very start as newly acquired "00" agent, to the very end of him.

My guess is that the next Bond will be a total reboot, as if nothing in Craig's era ever happened.

BTW and yes, the Casino Royale is my favorite Craig's Bond.
