Watching the incredible footage of the discovery of the "Endurance" today, reminded me of those two brilliant DVDs bought years ago. On the left is the "IMAX" re-creation plus original film taken at the time both in still photography and 35mm motion picture taken by Frank Hurley , the official photographer for the Endurance 1914-18 expedition.
On the right from the Milestone Collection "South" the original film of the 1914-18 expedition restored from 35mm archival material. This particular release is distributed by Image Entertainment.
The picture quality on both DVDs is excellent, the Imax one is narrated by Kevin Spacey which is well done.
Its an amazing story of survival against all odds.
Highly recommend both.
