I really liked him in the BBC's "New Tricks", he suited the role down to a tee, he will be missed.

Denis Waterman was an excellent actor, Minder was a big hit but he turns up everywhere. I recently screened the Belstone Fox on blu ray and there he was and he is also in my favourite Alice in Wonderland live action film from 1972 version by Joseph Shaftel with Fiona Fullerton, where he plays the two of spades painting the roses red!
